Today was, in general, a good day. Why you might ask? Well, I hung out with a bunch of my friends I haven’t seen in a while… Rob & Devona, Putster, Mr. Penn, the Kunklers (including their new daughter) and a bunch of others. It was Jonathan’s 30th birthday and we celebrated it in the park with lots…. yes lots and lots of ultimate frisbee… so much so that I am semi-crippled tonight. Though, to be fair to myself, I was already pretty achey from running alot this week. Jen and I grabbed some ice cream at Carvel’s afterwards for a good end to a fun afternoon.
I took a drive up to my”secret spot” when I got home tonight. It was really beautiful, the moon was just past it’s prime and cast a glow on the hillside. I just laid there and listened to the breeze in the trees and rested. If you stayed just under the branches the ground was pretty dry where the dew hadn’t settled. At one point I watched a spider pull itself up a single strand of web, silhouetted against the moon. The quiet peacefulness of it really filled me with a sense of wonder…. it was a perfect time to have a long talk with God.
Oh… as an added bonus my mom and Sarah sent me some homemade Mueslix (a breakfast cereal) with a poem. It was great, but since it is so late I will have to post it later.
