I just spent the weekend on a whirlwind roadtrip to Nashville and back. Matt, a long time friend, took a job at Belmont University and needed help moving. After loading up a truck, Jayson, Matt and I headed out early Saturday morning. For a 500 mile trip we made good time and arrived around dinner. Matt has an interesting situation. Because of his need to move quickly, he did not have a chance to do a lot of apartment shopping. He ended up renting a room for 30 days near the school. This will give him a chance to get the lay of the land and find a permanent residence. We had a great evening. Ate out at a brewery downtown and after some exploring ended up hanging out in a small in Printer’s Alley. We passed the evening listening to a girl do a great job on some cover songs and Matt picked Ricky Rocket out of the audience. For those of you who don’t know, (I didn’t and was quite suprised that Matt knew him on sight) Ricky was the drummer for the band Poison. “Its all those hours of watching Behind the Music on VH1,” was Matt’s excuse. The drive back felt long, but here I am back in town the next day and ready for a new week.
Sarah is going to be in town this week. I can’t wait. Her birthday is on Wednesday and we also plan on heading out to Hinckley to pick apples; an old family tradition. See you soon sis!
too bad i didn’t know. i’m in Nashville about 1 weekend a month. i might have been there that weekend.
