This counterform project is coming to a conclusion. This evening after church I am going to head over to Kinko’s and print of the final pages. I went a little beyond the requirements and created a collage with consecutive smaller squares. Take a look!

Who do you think you are? Robert Indiana?

How’s it going? This typography project looks nice. Is this going to be a direction for you, or are you abandoning things that look like this when you move onto the next project.

Hi Chard! Thanks for the comment. I looked up Robert Indiana and his work is quite interesting; very much along the lines of this assignment. Mostly we have been studying a book by Willi Kunz (examples at http://collections.sfmoma.org/THA100592*1$91038*4913336) so far this semester. I don’t think I will be doing alot more projects exactly like this one. It is interesting, but I don’t feel that passionate about it. However, the concepts I learned here will definitely carry on into other projects I work on. This typography is definitely changing the way I approach design.

Hi John,
I do not have a blog. I am still pretty illiterate with web stuff. I still do not have my own computer. Grrrr.
The negative spaces in your project have alot of power in them. If I could not read I would probably see the negative spaces as positive spaces. I know how school is. There is a lot of experimentation with a focus on work ethic. I dig the Willi Kunz stuff. Nice direction in the graphics towards the info communicated. My friend John is really good with creative type. He is a Myers graduate actually.

I wish I was learning what your learning. I am reading some technical books on illustrator right now. I am learning alot though.
I am going to have an art exhibition in August at Square Records on Market Street. “The Return of Bonhoeffer”. It will include large scale paintings with humidifiers shooting out mist from behind them. (Among other things, like a performance) I will send you an invite. It will be based on his final return to Germany from the U.S. The actual boat trip.
