Our current assignment is to apply sets of rules to the development of a poster. Each version should incorporate at least a few of the rules. Font size, greyscale variation, hierarchy and overlapping are just some of them. We are building up to creating a final poster using an image that we took of the new Akron Art Museum while it is under construction. Each of these versions forces me to create interest with limited options. Hopefully, when we do the final poster this exploration work will pay off it won’t just stand because of the image but because of the way the layout, hierarchy and typography interact with the image.
