Goals are not reached unless they are hard fought for. Google Earth tells me I ran 4.45 miles this evening.

Today I gave blood for the first time, I can’t say why I have never done it before. The momentary prick hardly seems painful when you know you are helping someone in a desperate situation. If you haven’t ever done it before, I suggest you try it at least once!
It was on the way back from a trip to Mt. Diablo that I happened upon an old GMC Diesel, rigged for well drilling, and laying abandoned in a field. The scene was so striking that I was sure it would be a pretty good picture. I did a U-turn and headed back for it… and here is the result. This is one in the series ‘Old Truck‘ that can be viewed on my flickr account.
By the way, you may have guessed, but I did get the job here in California. I’ve been here about 2 months now!
Haven’t heard from me for a while? Well, much has happened in the last few weeks! I visited my parents and sister in Florida, saw my friend Rich up in Jacksonville and my friend Peggy in Orlando. (If you are wondering, the recent tornados did not come anywhere close to her.) I had a great time hanging out with my sister. Among our adventures was an Everblades game, a 3am visit to kinkos, a crazy roadtrip across the state, and a ridiculously early visit to the beach for the sunrise.
The big news is that I am interviewing for a graphic design position out in Sacamento, California!! Although I must admit I was quite nervous, the preliminary phone interview went great. I am flying out this afternoon and have my interviews throughout the morning tomorrow. Wish me luck! Tuesday will be my return, so I will have a chance to explore the city and see the sights. If you know of any great places I should visit feel free let me know.
